Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy

Acupuncture Point Injection Theraphy 150x150 Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy

We get amazing results with Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy

APIT or Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy is the therapy which involves injecting small amounts of saline solution into Acupuncture or trigger points just under the skin or into the muscles. It is administered by qualified Acupuncturists. It evolved from Acupuncture and has been a therapy used by Acupuncturists in China for around 50 years. APIT promotes the body’s own self healing process and does not simply suppress or mask the pain.

APIT may work in several ways. The injection of the saline into the points can activate them in a similar way to Acupuncture needles with the major difference being that the bolus of the saline water can activate the points for a longer period of time enhancing the therapeutic effect.

The saline solution is an isotonic solution containing the same salt concentrations as our cells, blood and interstitial fluid. In cases of acute or chronic injury the interstitial fluid may become congested with the waste products from injured tissue which may prevent the nutrient and waste product transfer between the cells and the bloodstream. The injection of saline may improve the quality of the interstitial fluid allowing nutrient and waste transfer between the cells and bloodstream to occur efficiently again. Being pH neutral the saline may have its own particular effects on the local connective tissues and possibly optimising conditions for the body’s self healing.

Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy is useful for treating the same conditions that are normally treated by conventional Acupuncture. However it is ideal for acute and chronic musculo-skeletal pain including sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, Achilles pain, hip and neck pain, tennis elbow, knee foot and ankle pain, wrist and hand problems, frozen shoulder, lower back pain, sciatica, rib pain and headaches, etc.

This treatment comes at slightly higher price.
